Take your pick/>

Everynow and then I get to play with XML and XSLT on Domino. In R6 there’s complete support for XML and XSLT with all the new classes (in R5 they were only available in Java). However Notes does not have a built-in XML/XSLT editor so I’ve been having a bit of a play with oXygen, which is rather nice (but not free). Because it’s Java based it also runs as a plug-in to Eclipse if that’s your choice of Java IDE.

Fortunately, there’s no shortage of XML editors as shown in this list.

Upgrades and pipelines

I’ve finally found some time to upgrade the site to MovableType 3.14 and MT-Blacklist 2.0. Wow! what an improvement, particularly managing comments (well, mostly spam). The two products work so well together now, it’s a breeze to use.

So what else, I’ve been up to? I bought a Sapphire X800 Pro graphics card for myself (as no one else volunteered to buy it for xmas!). My Radeon 9800 Pro was good, but running the game at 1280×1024 had a significant performance impact, and I wanted to enjoy the game to the fullest. I also performed a BIOS flash upgrade to the X800 Pro and transformed it into an X800XT PE (with 16 pipelines compared to the 12 pipelines of the X800 Pro). The X800XT PE is something like $250-$300 more than the Pro version, so big savings there; and the upgrade is relatively safe too… Anyone looking for a much loved ATI Radeon 9800 Pro for a good price? :)
