Wind of change
It’s time I change ISPs; especially now that ADSL2 is in the works (and most ISPs provide 1.5Mb ADSL connections for what I pay for 512Kb). As per usual, Telstra will take it’s time to upgrade the hardware, and charge through the nose for a mediocre service at best (I also realised they count my upload data towards the monthly limit; that’s just not on…).
I’m looking at Internode - they rate very well and have a no-bullshit approach. There’s no off-peak/on-peak times, the plans are very competitive and they also have their own private national backbone network (you still use Telstra’s hardware at the exchange but it’s Internode’s lines after that). It’s all too good.

moonaki, try iinet. They are puting in dslams everywhere so you can eventually get 8mb. In true iinet fashion they are constantly giving us more for what we pay. The other week they automatically bumped all of us up to 1.5mb for free. check them out.

I did look at iiNet; no doubt they’re good otherwise they wouldn’t be the #1 rated ISP - I still though Internode has better overall; I hate those iiphone and crap like that to get the most of the iiNet plans. Internode are already offering ADSL2 (12Mb) for some ADSL2 enabled areas (not mine yet!).
