I was about to go the 5400 drive option and up to 1GB. Today's announcement of the new intel mac mini has made me pause for a moment. Who wants to buy my g4 mac mini so I can buy the new 4x faster/up to 2GB/5400 80GigHD/iLife06/FrontRow/RemoteControl/DL DVD etc..mac mini? Well. I was about to go the 5400 drive option and up to 1GB. I held off putting in some RAM to see what the performance benefit was simply from upgrading the hard disk, probably 40-50% increase I'd say! Having said that, next week I'll throw in 1GB of RAM to complete the job, should give the mini another little boost. BTW, I really enjoy your 'Taking Notes' podcasts!
